Experience description:

I was in final stage of delivering my baby, the Dr kept telling me to push. I was pushing and I heard the Dr say, "She has done all she can do." Immediately I was floating up at the ceiling. I saw the light fixture from up above and there was dust on the top of the brown light fixture. I looked out of the Hospital window and saw a Coca Cola truck pull in and a man got out and started unloading cartons of Coke and putting them on a dolly and started walking into the hospital. The entire time I was aware of my body in the bed below and the Medical staff all around it, but It did not concern me. I was at total peace. I had never before and have not since felt the love, peace I felt during that time. All at once, I noticed a round  black hole in the ceiling and I was swished threw it at high speed. After going into the tunnel, I don't remember anything until I seemed to land back on the bed with a thud and the pain was back.

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? No

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          Uncertain      Not really sure what happened. In 1968 not much was said about NDE

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?    The time I spent up at the ceiling I was very conscious and alert.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal every day consciousness and alertness?    Normal consciousness and alertness

If your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience was different from your normal every day consciousness and alertness, please explain:            The time I spent up at the ceiling I was very conscious and alert.

Did your vision differ in any way from your normal, everyday vision (in any aspect, such as clarity, field of vision, colors, brightness, depth perception degree of solidness/transparency of objects, etc.)?  No

Did your hearing differ in any way from your normal, everyday hearing (in any aspect, such as clarity, ability to recognize source of sound, pitch, loudness, etc.)?
            No

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            Peace, Love, Joy, Safe, secure

Did you pass into or through a tunnel or enclosure?          Yes     There was a round opening in the ceiling and I was sucked into it at a high rate of speed, I did not touch the circle anywhere. I remember thinking, How could I have gone into that at that speed and touch nothing.

Did you see a light?           No

Did you meet or see any other beings?           No

Did you experience a review of past events in your life?    No       I am not afraid of death. After this experience I'm looking forward to the total peace that I know will be there when I die.

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          Yes     The Coke man and what he did (If I had told someone then), But it's been so long now it could not be proven. I was in Green Memorial Hospital In Zenia Ohio and it was around noon.

Did you see or visit any beautiful or otherwise distinctive locations, levels or dimensions?           No

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   No

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?     No

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure? No

Did you become aware of future events?       No

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience you did not have prior to the experience?     Uncertain      I have had dreams of what is going to happen before it happens.

Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     I never told anyone for years, because in 1968 people did not talk about out of body experience and I did not wont to be labeled as weird. The people I have told say they believe me. My experience seems to help the people I talk to about it.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?    Uncertain            Can't say for sure, but I don't think I had heard about an experience like this before it happened to me. That's why I never talked about it, even though it was very real to me I did not wont to be labeled as weird.

How did you view the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:            Experience was definitely real    I knew it was real and I did not need anyone to verify it for me.

Were there one or several parts of the experience especially meaningful or significant to you?            The sense of not a care in the world. It was total peace

How do you currently view the reality of your experience:            Experience was definitely real    It's still just as clear today as it was in 1968. I have never doubted if the experience was real or not. It was a very real experience.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?           Uncertain            Don't know about relationships, but I try to treat people with respect and fairness, because I believe there is Life After Death and we will be judged. I don't wont to miss out on the Peace that I know is waiting.

Have your religious beliefs/practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?
No

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         Uncertain      Not really sure what you mean, but we lost our second son (not the one I was giving birth to when I had this experience) in 1977. Two weeks after he died, I had a Vision (I suppose that's what it was.) I was walking with Gary in a green field by a river, and we were talking but it was like reading each others mine. Not really talking out loud. He told me I would have to go thru rough times, but I would make it like he had.

Did the questions asked and information you provided so far accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?         Yes
