Arrow's Experience
|
Experience description:
I had an
out of body experience two times in my life. I'll write about the early one
first. I was
living in Taos Ski Valley, the year was about 1980 and I was 28 years old. I was
working as a mail clerk and a live in child care person. I shared a
house with a ski instructor. The bedrooms were kind of strange in that you had
to walk through one bedroom to get to another. My roommate had to walk through
mine to get to his. Late one
night I was in my room and it was dark. I was standing by my bookcase looking
for a particular book, actually, I was looking for a particular piece of
information that I knew was in one of my books. I was scanning the books trying
to determine which book the information was in. Suddenly my roommates bedroom
door opened. Before I
knew it I was in the air. It was in a split second that I was in the air and I
saw my body laying on my bed. I was out of my body. I quickly went down into my
body but it was wrong! I was
trying to get into my body the wrong way. I bolted up into the air again and
spun around and went down into my body, this time perfectly aligned. I remember
seeing what seemed like a cord of light from my body to my spirit body. It was
as though that cord had something to do with reeling me in. All of
this happened in a split second. By the time the door was opened and my roommate
stepped into my room it was done, I was awake and I saw him pass through to the
stairs. I had also
noted that while I lived in this house I experienced loud thunderclaps that
seemed to be in my head during sleep at night. These claps would wake me up. It
was something from the dream state. The weather outside would always be fine.
Usually just lots of powdery snow. These thunder claps happen periodically
throughout my life. I realized
was trying to get into my body the wrong way. I bolted up into the air again and
spun around and went down into my body, this time perfectly aligned. I remember
seeing what seemed like a cord of light from my body to my spirit body. It was
as though that cord had something to do with reeling me in. All of
this happened in a split second. By the time the door was opened and my roommate
stepped into my room it was done, I was awake and I saw him pass through to the
stairs. Sincerely,
Any associated medications
or substances with the potential to affect the experience?
No This level of
education post high school is an unfair question. I have studied and read beyond
most masters requirements in alternative medicine and religious studies. Why do
you not account for independent study?
Was the kind of experience
difficult to express in words?
No
What was your level of
consciousness and alertness during the experience?
My body was asleep. My astral body
was outside of my body in my room
Was the
experience dream like in any way?
No. I thought I was awake as I was
looking through the bookcase. I didn't realize that there was something odd
going on until I tried to return to my body. I think that if I had not had
difficulty getting back into my body I may not have become aware of the
experience at all.
Did you experience a
separation of your consciousness from your body?
No response I do not
recall my appearance of my astral body. I was my astral body. I recall the
appearance of my physical body in my bed. I also recall the appearance of a cord
between my body and my astral. It came from the navel area on my physical body
and I think it may have been connected to navel area on my astral but I am not
sure. Sometimes when I think about it I think the cord may have been attached to
my astral head but I am not sure. The attachment to my astral navel is a
stronger image.
What emotions did you feel
during the experience?
I was startled when my roommate
entered my room. I felt startled. Then I just flew. WOW! Astounded.
Did you hear any unusual
sounds or noises?
NO. But during this period of my
life I did experience loud thunder claps in my head during sleep as explained
previously.
LOCATION DESCRIPTION:
Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar
religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or
amazing creatures?
No
Did you see a light?
I did not see a light but there was enough light to see my books in a room that
was essentially a basement room that was very dark and normally was very
difficult to see in especially at night.
Did you experiment while out
of the body or in another, altered state?
Yes
I had pulled one, maybe more
books from the bookcase but they were all in proper place in the morning.
Did you observe or hear
anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be
verified later?
No
Did you notice how your 5
senses were working, and if so, how were they different?
No My senses seemed normal.
I didn't realize that I was astral traveling as I was doing it.
Did you reach a boundary or
limiting physical structure?
I could sense the limitations of any ordinary physical room. It seems the
bookcase and books had mass. I did not perceive anything unusual while out of
body
Did you become aware of future
events? No
Were you involved in or aware
of a decision regarding your return to the body?
Before I knew it I was in the air.
It was in a split second that I was in the air and I saw my body laying on my
bed. I was out of my body. I quickly went down into my body but it was wrong!
Did you have any psychic,
paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have
prior to the experience?
at this time in my life I was
creating experience though prayer and intention more so than ever before or
since. If I wanted something to happen I just had to want it to happen, create a
thought form and soon it would occur. I felt like I was under guidance of some
sort. Like I was being lead to a destiny and I was co creating that
destiny.
Did you have any changes of
attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
I was more certain about life
after death and the actuality of my soul and that my physical body was just a
vehicle for this physical reality journey
How has the experience
affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career
choices? Well, it was
only one small experience in a life filled with wonderful realizations and
experience. In the sum total of it all so far it only played a minor part yet
significant to some degree
Has your life changed
specifically as a result of your experience?
I would say yes, but reread
number 26. It has been just a piece in the puzzle.
Have you shared this
experience with others?
Yes Mostly people are polite.
Some people were WOWed by it. I don't talk of it much any more
What emotions did you
experience following your experience?
Astound-ment.
What was the best and worst
part of your experience?
No bad aspects. It affirmed my
belief that there is more to reality than a physical body. But it was not the
only experience I have had that has done this. Experience has been accumulating
over the years to satisfy my need to know, not just believe about the existence
of the soul and continuation of the journey after death of the body.
Is there anything else you
would like to add concerning the experience?
This experience was only a small
experience in a larger field of reality. I've had some things occur to me that
were way beyond this. I have a knowledge that reality is over layered and you
choose or call in which layer you wish to work in while here in the physical
plant earth. The ability to understand and work his knowledge did not start
coming to me until around 1983 or 84
Following the experience, have
you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which
reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Did the questions asked and
information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your
experience?
Yes
Please offer any suggestions
you may have to improve this questionnaire.
