Experience description:

My son had died of an overdose in April of this year. On Mother's Day, I was gifted a massage. It lasted about two hours. I was in the early days of grief trying to understand so much where my son was, is he okay, I want to communicate with him, what happens to him (us)? I felt his death had cracked me open and I wanted answers. I cried almost the whole massage; it was such a good way to feel and express my emotion.

On my back, near the end of the massage, I called upon all entities, any spiritual help to help me understand. I included all the plants in the area because I love plants and I felt they would help me. Suddenly I was transported to another world. It was all energy and color there. I felt some kind of broad relief. I was imparted some information about what death is. Just as suddenly I was back in the normal world. I said to the masseuse, 'What just happened?' I explained and he asked, 'Are you afraid?' I said no, I want to go back.

I haven't gone back since. The visit to the other world was wonderful, very helpful. I found a dead bird in my driveway after and I brought it to the backyard, buried it, and said some words. I have a great respect for death now. I see it as a true 'deadline.' I want my life to be more meaningful. I want to do work that allows my authentic self to emerge more wholly and give to others.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   No 

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  Yes     I keep trying to express what that place was like. Words do not do it justice. It is being in action. It has sparked my imagination.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?      When I was in the other world.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      More consciousness and alertness than normal   I felt I had been transported and I was conscious and aware in the other world.  I was very happy. I understood my spirit to be free in a sense and at the same time given information to help me understand.

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   Sudden transformation from normal grieving experience to other world where I got some information.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   I was unaware of any change in hearing except to the extent that no earthly senses seemed to be involved.

Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during a time that your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body?   No  

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   I experienced relief. I have always thought there is a bigger picture than what we normally see/experience. The expression of great sadness prior, in a sense, my desire to connect with my son, and my deep desire to know, were all answered in a short episode.  

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   No  

Did you see an unearthly light?   Yes   A few extremely beautiful colors that were just being. The color was not more bright than usual colors, I wouldn't describe it the way, it was a different in every respect. It was freedom, beauty, being,  existence, awareness. Mystical colors.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   No


Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   No   

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?   Uncertain   Something gave me information. I don't know what that thing is, except roughly a kind of conscious force.

Did you become aware of past events in your life during your experience?   No  

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?   A clearly mystical or unearthly realm
It was a brief visit to another world. I loved the experience. The colors are not like in an earthly box of color crayons. It is more than color. I was imparted information about death and the nature of our being. On a spiritual level I felt a sense of it making sense.

Did time seem to speed up or slow down?   No

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything?   Everything about the universe
It's like I so desired to know with all my heart, to be open to knowing more, that the universe gave me a sneak peak. Though I cannot say what particular information about death/life I was given, I knew something else when I came back to my body/self. That awarenesss has stayed with me.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?   No

Did you come to a border or point of no return?   No

Did scenes from the future come to you?  No 

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (“life after death”)?   Yes   I'm sorry I can't describe what I learned about death except that I now feel it is a transition point.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that God or a supreme being either does (or does not) exist?   Uncertain   Well I obviously got some information. I don't know who or what gave it to me except that the place itself provided answers.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that you either did (or did not) exist prior to this lifetime?   No  

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that a mystical universal connection or unity/oneness either does (or does not) exist?   Yes   I had a feeling of universal connection. It made so much sense to me.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness regarding earthly life’s meaning or purpose?   Yes   In a sense I desire greater purpose for the remaining years of my life on Earth.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness regarding earthly life’s difficulties, challenges, or hardships?   Yes   The death of my son was the impetus for the experience. Although I am still grieving, I got a gift.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness regarding love?   Uncertain   I always feel that love is the answer. That is a given.

During your experience, did you encounter any other specific information / awareness that you have not shared in other questions that is relevant to living our earthly lives?   No  

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge or purpose?   Yes   Life/death it all made sense in a beautiful way.

What occurred during your experience included:   Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience   I don't know how to get there again. It was all knowingness/beingness. I felt my love for nature, my son, had propelled me. I was god-smacked.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?   I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of th   I don't think I'll ever forget this Experience.

Discuss any changes that might have occurred in your life after your experience:   The experience has realigned my purpose for being, though still lots of questions!

Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that occurred as a result of the experience?   Yes   I now want a clearer expression of my values. I want to know more of the nature of the universe.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   Uncertain   My desire for psychic gifts has certainly increased. I want to see what is possible on earth.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?     Death is not an end but a transition.

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  Besides the masseuse, I came home and immediately told my 36 year old daughter. She believes me.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   No  

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   It's a seared-into your soul situation for me. It continues to inform how I live.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real   Same as 56.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Uncertain   I am feeling much more in touch with people's vibrational levels. I am looking to see what/why a person is in my life.
