Amy K's Experience
|
Experience description:
I
was standing at the counter in my kitchen making myself a cup of coffee. It was
around 9pm (yes I drink coffee that late) and my 16 yr old son came into the
room and poured himself a drink. I reminded him to take his melatonin (no, I do
not take melatonin myself) and he put his cup down on the counter beside my
coffee cup. He took the melatonin and walked out of the room forgetting his
drink. I called after him and told him not to forget his drink. As soon as he
rounded the corner.
I
saw him out of my peripheral vision, and I mean as soon as, instantly "I" was
standing behind myself about 2 feet and could see everything from an outsider's
perspective. On my right was my 16 yr old son grabbing his cup and taking a sip
of his drink and at the same time (like a double exposure on a film) I saw him
at 3 or so years old hanging onto my left leg and me handing him a sippy-cup.
The 16 yr old him said "Thanks Mom" in unison with the 3 yr old him saying "Dank
you Mommy". As soon as the 16 yr old walked out of the room, and again
instantly, I was staring down at my cup of coffee, stirring the creamer and
sugar with my spoon and I was a little dizzy. The entire event from start to
finish couldn't have been any longer than 10 seconds, but I had an overwhelming
desire to run after him to his room and hug him. I didn't do it because that
would have weirded him out, but I was just so baffled and almost immediately
afterward I started questioning whether it really happened at all. But it had to
happen because now that he's 16 I had almost forgotten what he looked and
sounded like at 3, and now I remember specifically, right down to how the light
would dance on his bouncy, brown curly hair and how he used to pronounce "th" as
"d".

event?
No
What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?

"consciousness" was the observer from a distance.
What emotions did you feel during the experience?
Surprise, confusion and LOVE looking at my 3 yr old son.
Did
you hear any unusual sounds or noises?
No,
everything else was otherwise "normal" in my house on a Sunday evening.

Yes I shared with my husband right after it happened and his response was
"Maybe you're dying?" He was baffled as well, but we haven't talked about it
since, most likely we won't either. I posted it on a forum I am a member of in
their "Paranormal Studies" section (one poeter's response led me here) and so
far not too much reaction except asking if I take melatonin too, which I don't
and a few who believe me but don't know what to make of it.
What emotions did you experience following your experience?
Fear, confusion, sadness, joy, shock.
What was the best and worst part of your experience?
