Experience description:

I found myself at a place that would be similar to a landscaped rest stop on a typical American express way, although I did not see the highway. The place was rather beautiful with manicured grass and trees. The tree branches were swaying in the breeze. There were people who looked sad. People had humanoid structure but appeared grotesque. I got the feeling that they were not going anywhere. There was feeling of a lot of sadness. There was also a place where people could get food while waiting. I may even have gotten some food and felt that I will be waiting there a while before I get my next mode of transportation. There was feeling of a lot of sadness. This confused me because I thought that it was just a rest stop, and people could go anywhere anytime they wanted. A question arose in my mind: why am I being shown this? This was followed by another question: 'am I supposed to help them? As soon as I got the feeling that I felt that I should help them, hands started grabbing me and pulling me. It felt like a telepathically communicated that I was willing to help but if I was pulled liked that then I won't be able to help. Nevertheless more hands joiner in pulling me towards them. This scared me and I started to pull away. I couldn't and my fear level skyrocketed. I started feeling that I was not ready for this, and needed help to get out. As soon as I felt that, my late mother appeared in my thoughts and I felt that she told me to sing the ode to Lord Hanuman. I also felt that my mother sensed that I was in trouble and I needed help. I did not exactly remember the ode but nevertheless started chanting something about Lord Hanuman. I think I saw him and felt his presence during the struggle. I kept chanting louder and louder. It seemed to me that he was there to check how bad of a situation I was in, and disappeared very quickly. I continued my chanting louder and louder, and woke up scared and hyperventilating in a dark room. Till I woke up every thing that I experienced was as really as things can be.

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?    That of a normal human

            Was the experience dream like in any way?  Not during the experience. Seemed very real till I woke up.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?         A desire to help turned into helpless and fear

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?         No

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?         Yes    I recognized a place similar to a rest stop on an American expressway.

Did you see a light?        No     

Did you meet or see any other beings?         Yes    I saw Lord Hanuman.

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state?         No     

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No     

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different? Yes    I could see, perhaps hear, touch, communicate telepathically, and feel emotions and presence

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?          Uncertain     I can't really describe. Felt like I was supposed to be there for a while, and may have been there for a while.

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?         No     

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?           No     

Did you become aware of future events?      No     

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?          No      Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         No     

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?     Yes    My faith in Hanuman has increased. Believe that gods are looking out for me has increased.

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?   I silently pray every day more than once to have those people I am supposed to help be sent to me or I be sent to them. I also wonder a lot about who I am supposed to help and why I am not ready for it.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? Uncertain     Not very sure. Too soon to tell.

Have you shared this experience with others?       Yes          My wife. She listened was sympathetic but did not ask a whole lot of questions.

What emotions did you experience following your experience? Just after waking up I was very scared.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?          Have my mother come to me and also seeing Lord Hanuman.
