Amanda M's Experience
|
Experience description:
I decided
to go to bed early and read. The book was boring, so I decided to listen to some
music. My Hi-Fi was on the landing, to avoid upsetting my neighbor. The Hi-Fi
not being on our adjoining walls was acceptable to her. I put one of my speakers
in the bedroom, leaving the door ajar. I fell to sleep listening to the radio. I
awoke and heard the music, thinking I should turn it off. I did not, and drifted
back into sleep. I later woke, and did turn off the music. The time was 2.40am.
I was falling to sleep again, when I heard music coming from next door. I had
upset my neighbor. I was in
bed on my right side facing the window. The headboard was against our adjoining
walls. My neighbor put her radio up against the wall and turned the volume up
full blast. The noise went straight down my ear, pain shot down my ear, down my
arm and through my body. I lay paralyzed, unable to move or blink. I could
hear music when I left my body. I floated out of my body and started to go
towards the door. All the time I could see flashing colored lights all around
me. I asked myself, What is happening to me? Is this a Dream? Is this an
Hallucination? I was frightened, and wanted it to stop. I reached the top of the
door, and in through the gap of the door, floated a lighted torch. I took the
torch in my hand and threw it to the other side of the room. I turned back to
the door, in floated a teddy bear, which i also threw away. Any
associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the
experience? No.
Was the
kind of experience difficult to express in words?
No. What was
your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?
I believed I was wide awake.
Was the experience dream like
in any way? NO Did you
experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?
Yes. The body connected to my
consciousness did not appear solid, it had a transparent look to it. What
emotions did you feel during the experience?
mainly fear. Did you
hear any unusual sounds or noises?
NO LOCATION
DESCRIPTION: Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations familiar
from religious teachings ie. Heaven, Hell, Hades, etc.? Did you encounter any
locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?
No Did you
see a light? Yes. Very
very bright light, but not blinding. White and warm. Never seen anything like it
before or since. It seemed to come from my window and cover itself all around
me. Did you
meet or see any other beings?
No. Did
you experiment while out body or in another altered state? For example did you
attempt to visit a family member or friend at another location? Did you
eyewitness an event that you would not have known about had you not been out of
body? Did you attempt to move a physical object while in the astral/etheric
universe?
No Did you
observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that
could be verified later?
No. Did you
notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?
Yes. Although it was night
and my curtains were closed I could see everything in my room clearly, this was
before the light came. Did you
have any sense of altered space or time?
Yes. The experience did not seem
to last very long, but 25 mins had passed according to the clock. Did you
have a sense of knowing special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?
Yes. Just after the
experience I thought wow! I now know there is something more than the physical
body. Did you
reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?
Yes. I felt very drawn to the
light, but my sense was to make it go away. I felt I would not be able to return
to my body. Did you
become aware of future events?
No. Were you
involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?
Yes. I asked whatever it was to
leave me alone, that is when I returned to my body. Did you
have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience you
did not have prior to the experience?
No. Did you
have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes. If someone told me about a
unexplained experience I would dismiss it. I now know that people do have
unusual things happen to them and that they are very real. How has
the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices
etc.? Career choices? I am
a more tolerant and forgiving person. Have you
shared this experience with others?
Yes. Most people's reaction is
like mine was, YEAH RIGHT! dreaming. What
emotions did you experience following your experience?
I felt on a High, all excited at
what had happened. What was
the best and worst part of your experience?
The best part is having had the
experience. The worst
part not knowing exactly what happened. Is there
anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?
I feel that I should have embraced
the experience while it was happening. I can
understand how people feel spiritual about these experiences, because at first I
really did believe I left my physical body. I had two experience prior to my
oobe, but dismissed them when they happened. 1. I woke
up in bed to see to men stood at the bottom of my bed, I did not recognize these
men, but one was wearing glasses. I blinked they did not go away. I blinked
again, and this time they faded away. It did not frighten me I just turned over
and went back to sleep. 2. I again
woke up one night to see my son stood in the bedroom doorway, the light was out
but I clearly recognized my son. He was 5 years old and often got up in the
night to go to the toilet. I asked him to get back into bed, I got no response,
I asked a second time still no response. I do not know what made feel at the
side of me in bed, but I did. To my horror my son was in bed fast asleep. This
experience frightened me, I just dived under the covers and held on to my son
till morning. These
experiences happened in the two weeks prior to my oobe. Has
your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? No.
Following
the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or
substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No. Did the
questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively
describe your experience?
Yes.
I was facing the door in a upright position one minute the next i had turned
round to the left and was floating on my back, facing the wall adjoining my
neighbors. My head was leaning on my right shoulder and my right arm seemed
twisted. I could see my body, but could not feel it.
The room was bright and I was looking at a dress that was hung on my bedroom
wall. My gaze was fixed on this dress taking in all its details. I knew it was
not possible to see this dress from the position I was laid in bed, this
frightened me again. Then this beautiful white light wrapped itself around me,
it felt amazing it was so bright and for a moment I felt safe. Then fear hit me
and I thought, please go away, leave me alone. The next thing, I was back in a
upright position coming down. I reached the floor and touched my bed in a
sitting position. I whooshed back into my body. I lay there, it was 3.05am, I
could not believe what had just happened.
